Prayer Service
Join us for this special Prayer Service
We are called to pray for our government and for those in authority. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 tells us, “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in al godliness and holiness.” God has established governments to maintain lawfulness and to preserve order. As Christians, In keeping with our faith, we are to support it as long as it does not contradict God’s Word.
For almost 250 years we have been blessed to be able to choose our leaders in a mostly peaceful and organized way. This is most certainly a gift from God. As we once again go to the polls to elect our leaders, our country is beset by troubles within and without. Some may feel that our situation is hopeless. We need to remember that our God is still supreme. No one comes to power except by His authority. (Romans 13:1) “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.”
In past prayer services, we have found it convenient to follow the A.C.T.S. form of prayer: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication.
Join us as we lift up our nation, leaders, communities and one another to God who “hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles”. (Psalm 34:17)
